The Australian Government Department of Home Affairs has renewed its recognition of the C1 Advanced qualification as proof of English proficiency for all visa programmes. This means that candidates with this qualification can continue to use C1 Advanced for study, work and migration to Australia.
C1 Advanced, is one of our Cambridge English Qualifications, which are in-depth depth exams that make learning English enjoyable, effective and rewarding. They are developed by Cambridge Assessment English, a department of Cambridge University. More than 9,000 educational institutions, businesses and government departments around the world accept C1 Advanced as proof of high-level achievement in learning English.
Carmen Le, Recognition Manager, ASEAN, Australasia, Japan & South Korea at Cambridge Assessment English said:
‘We’re delighted to continue to get this level of recognition from the Australian Department of Home Affairs. C1 Advanced is a high-level qualification that covers the language skills that employers and universities are looking for. It’s set to international standards and successful candidates develop the skills they need to have a positive experience of studying and living in an English-speaking country.’
C1 Advanced is also accepted by 100% of Australian universities for admissions into undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Candidates can also use C1 Advanced results to prove their English language skills for migration with the following Australian professional bodies:
- Institute of Public Accountants
- CPA Australia
- Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand
- Australia Institute of Quantity Surveyors
- Australian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine
- Australia Community Workers Association
- National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters
- Top companies such as KPMG, PWC, Deloitte Australia, Telstra and more also accept C1 Advanced qualification in their graduate requirement programme.
C1 Advanced is widely available across Australia. The Speaking test is taken face to face, with two candidates and two examiners. This creates a more realistic measure of candidates’ ability to use English to communicate.
More than 9,000 educational institutions, businesses and government departments around the world accept C1 Advanced as proof of high-level achievement in learning English. Every university in the UK and Ireland accepts C1 Advanced from EU students. The majority also accept the exam from students from outside of the EU.
