All eight members of the Group of Eight (Go8) coalition of leading Australian universities now accept Cambridge English: Advanced as a minimum English language requirement for overseas student applications.
Melbourne University is the latest member to accept Cambridge English: Advanced as proof of English language ability of overseas students applying to study on degree courses. The high-level English qualification, developed by University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL), covers the real-life English language skills students need for success in their studies.
Daniel Yuen from Cambridge ESOL says:
“It’s really encouraging to see such a high take up of Cambridge English: Advanced from Australia’s top universities. It’s essential that overseas students are able to communicate socially as well as having the academic and technical language skills needed for study. Cambridge English Advanced focuses on assessing the real-life communications skills and encourages students to learn the types of language skills needed to be able to follow lectures, write essays and be confident in social situations”.
The Group of Eight (Go8) coalition of leading Australian universities joins the thousands of organisations around the world who recognise Cambridge English: Advanced as proof of language ability. The Go8 coalition is made up of Monash, New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Australian National University.
