Türkiye’s independent Ministry authority OSYM (The Turkish Centre for Measurement, Selection and Placement) has confirmed it will continue to recognise C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency from Cambridge University Press & Assessment. The move means that students who hold a Cambridge English C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency certificate can be exempt from the English foundation year when applying to study on English taught-courses at Turkish universities.
‘Cambridge English exams will continue to play a key role in helping students to have a positive study experience in Türkiye,’ commented Hisham AlSaghbini, Regional Recognition Manager at Cambridge University Press & Assessment. He continued: ‘We design the Cambridge English exams so they cover the real-life communication skills that students will need at university. This includes helping students to gain the confidence and skills they need to communicate and express themselves in a wide range of academic situations. This helps them play a key role in university life’.
In October 2023 OSYM, confirmed that C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency will remain on the OSYM Equivalency Framework. This means that C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency certificates are recognised as equivalent to KPDS, ÜDS, YDS and e-YDS exams in Türkiye.
The Cambridge English exams are recognised by more than 25,000 organisations around the world including universities, employers and governments. Read the full list of organisations that recognise Cambridge English.
