An enhanced approach to reporting results across the range of Cambridge English exams will be launched from next year.
The Cambridge English Scale – which will introduce a single scale for reporting results across the Cambridge English exams – will be launched for Cambridge English: First, Advanced and Proficiency in January and phased in for other examinations during 2015.
Nick Charge, Assistant Director at Cambridge English said:
'The new scale will provide a clearer picture to candidates on their overall performance. The Cambridge English Scale will clearly show what their level is on the scale for each of the four skills and Use of English covered in the exams. They’ll also be able to see how their achievement relates to internationally recognised standards and other Cambridge English exams'.
Each Cambridge English exam is mapped to a section of the scale and candidates will be able to see how performance on one exam relates to another. Cambridge English Scale scores will replace the current candidate profile and standardised score. Grades and Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) levels will be retained.
