An expert from Cambridge University Press & Assessment says English teachers in Romania are overcoming key challenges and helping to motivate learners across the country. Darren Perrett, Senior Assessment Services, Recognition and Pedagogy Manager from Cambridge shared this insight, at this year’s Cambridge Day in Romania. The event attracted nearly 2000 teachers.
‘English Teachers in Romania do such a fantastic job in helping to motivate ambitious learners,’ commented Darren. He continued: ‘The challenges teachers must overcome include assessing at the right levels, identifying strengths and weaknesses and selecting appropriate learning resources and classroom materials. At Cambridge we’re with teachers every step of the way and provide support materials and a comprehensive approach to learning and assessment’.
The annual event attracted 400 teachers in person, and a further 1500 who joined online. Aniella Busila, a Cambridge consultant based in Romania, opened the event. She emphasised Cambridge's commitment to enhancing learning outcomes through comprehensive research-based teaching resources and qualifications.
Anne Robinson, a respected teacher trainer and Cambridge author, led a session focussing on the best ways to provide teachers with additional support in the classroom. She emphasised the need for constructive approaches to meet the diverse needs of learners and encouraged exploration of effective strategies to achieve this goal.
Charles Stewart, a Cambridge regional trainer, led a session on Cambridge One, a digital teaching and learning platform offering all resources in one place. Attendees explored strategies for integrating this user-friendly tool into classrooms to enhance teacher efficiency and sustain student motivation. Using examples from popular courses like Super Minds, Kid’s Box, and Complete, Charles demonstrated the practical applications of Cambridge One in facilitating engaging learning experiences.
