TIRF - The International Research Foundation for English Language Education - has elected Dr Evelina Galaczi, Director of Research for English at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, as their newest trustee. TIRF promotes effective English language education in multilingual contexts.
Evelina brings a vast wealth of expertise in second language acquisition and assessment, as well as in the delivery of high-quality research, testing theory and test design. Her current work focuses on the challenges and exciting opportunities of using AI in language assessment and learning. For the next three years, she will work alongside her Board colleagues on TIRF future projects. Among the many projects, the Foundation supports early career scholars with their research in English language education.
Galaczi commented “Cambridge is all about research and understanding the individual needs of learners and teachers. We share TIRF’s passion and drive for advancing research on English language education. The work they do is fundamental and I’m looking forward to using my experience to support the aims of the Foundation.”
TIRF board also includes Dr Nick Saville Director of Thought Leadership for English at Cambridge University Press & Assessment.
Cambridge supports TIRF Doctoral Dissertation Grants scheme that allows doctoral students who are specialising in the field of English Language Education to be awarded grants up to US $5,000 to fund their studies.
