English Adventures with Cambridge, created by Cambridge Assessment English in collaboration with Minecraft: Education Edition, provides a new, fun, motivating and memorable learning experience. The three-chapter pilot will be launching on Minecraft: Education Edition on 19 May.
Built entirely in Minecraft, one of the most popular games of all time, and a game already being used for education, English Adventures with Cambridge is a safe environment for children of all ages to practise their English at level A1 and above. Children meet new characters, solve puzzles, use their English and unlock rewards in this unique English-language world. All challenges and puzzles in English Adventures with Cambridge have been created by language-learning and assessment experts and are designed to build learners’ vocabulary and communication skills.
Playing at home can help reinforce learning in class and motivate children to explore and learn more. ‘We know that when children immerse themselves in an authentic game like English Adventures with Cambridge they become relaxed, curious and determined, providing the conditions for real learning to take place. That is why we are so delighted to be working in collaboration with Minecraft: Education Edition and so excited to bring this to language learners around the world’ Belinda Cerdá, Head of Digital Partnerships, explains.
‘Minecraft: Education Edition gives a whole new meaning to language immersion’ said Allison Matthews, Head of Minecraft Education. ‘There are so many ways to practice language in Minecraft, and this creative, interactive world gives learners a brand new way to explore the English language.’
English Adventures with Cambridge has been developed by experts at Cambridge and is aimed at children aged 8+ or at A1 level and above of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. It will be available from 19 May online.
