The Department of Justice Immigration Service (ISD) in Ireland now recognises A2 Key from Cambridge University Press & Assessment.
From this August, A2 Key has been added to the list of approved English proficiency tests for ILEP (Interim List of Eligible Programmes) providers. The decision means that Non-EEA/non-Swiss nationals wanting to study on English Language programmes in Ireland (for longer than 90 days) can now take A2 Key to prove their English as the end-of-course exam.
A2 Key is one of the Cambridge English Qualifications. It tests at level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR). A2 joins other Cambridge English exams already recognised by ISD which are B1 Preliminary, B2 First, C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency and IELTS.
This August also saw the addition of the OET Test joining the list of approved English proficiency tests for ILEP. The OET Test is accepted by healthcare organisations and regulators worldwide as the preferred test for healthcare professionals. OET is jointly owned by Cambridge Boxhill Language Assessment, a venture between Cambridge University Press & Assessment English and Box Hill Institute.
More than 25,000 organisations around the world rely on Cambridge English as proof of English language ability. This includes universities, employers, and governments.
We recommend you check with the ISD to check requirements before applying. You can find out more on Interim List of Eligible Programmes (ILEP).
