A game that’s helping hundreds of thousands of children to learn English in Minecraft has been shortlisted for a global education award. English Adventures with Cambridge, which was developed by experts at Cambridge Assessment English, has already clocked up more than 300,000 plays in 170 countries.
The game has been shortlisted for the K12 Award at this year's Reimagine Awards, which are the largest awards programme for educational innovators around the world. Students playing English Adventures with Cambridge get to meet memorable characters in a Minecraft setting and have to use their English language skills to play activities and solve puzzles. English Adventures with Cambridge is aimed at children aged 7 and above who are at A1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The game can also be used to help children prepare for the popular Cambridge English Young Learners tests.
