The Ministry of Education in Thailand has recognised a range of English teaching qualifications from Cambridge Assessment English. The Office of Basic Education Commission has recognised the qualifications as minimum entry requirements for primary and secondary teachers who plan to teach on English Programmes and Mini-English programmes in schools across the country.
The qualifications that have been recognised are TKT, CELT-P and CELT-S. TKT is a flexible series of modular teaching qualifications that show how professionals are developing as English teachers. CELT–P is a practical English teaching qualification, which aims to give primary school teachers a chance to develop their classroom skills and confidence. CELT-S is aimed at building confidence and skills for secondary education teachers.
Carmen Le, Regional Recognition Manager at Cambridge Assessment English said:
‘We’re delighted to receive this level of recognition for our teaching qualifications, which are seen around the world as an international quality standard. Our teaching qualifications are designed to help teachers prove what they can do in line with international standards. They also help teachers build their confidence which means they can really motivate their students and have a positive impact in the classroom.’
The Cambridge English teaching qualifications are designed by Cambridge Assessment English, a department of Cambridge University.
