This series of specialised workshops is designed for experienced teachers aiming to enhance their skills in assessing, grading, and providing feedback on speaking performance for the Cambridge English B1 Preliminary, B2 First, and C1 Advanced exams. The sessions will offer a comprehensive exploration of the specific assessment criteria for speaking at these levels and demonstrate how to effectively use these criteria to guide teaching and deliver constructive feedback. Participants will analyse the different components of the speaking tests and engage with activities designed to help learners improve their speaking skills in preparation for the Cambridge English exams.

Developing advanced writers in a second language requires a clear understanding of what differentiates effective writers at B2, C1 and C2, and a toolkit of effective teaching strategies. This dynamic training session will explore the core components of advanced writing, such as genre awareness, stylistic precision and strategies effective writers use. Teachers will engage in discussion, exploring about various approaches to teaching writing, and look at specific techniques that help learners develop their writing skills at higher levels. Teachers will leave with a clearer understanding of how best to differentiate writing at higher levels, as well as practical tips and ready-to-implement activities for the writing classroom.
