What are Open Badges?

An Open Badge shows others what you have accomplished. It can show your skills or interests, or any Continuing Professional Development (CPD) that you have achieved. Open Badges are displayed on social networking profiles, online CVs, jobsites and more. When clicked, a badge displays information about your learning achievements and CPD activities.

Your badges can help employers, organisations, educational institutions and individuals to verify your skills, interests and achievements.

How can I earn an Open Badge?

You can get a badge by attending and participating in Open Badge events such as Cambridge Days in Italy, which are organised in partnership with Cambridge University Press. When you have attended the event and fulfilled that badge’s learning objectives, you can claim your badge.

How do I collect and share Open Badges?

After you have attended the Cambridge Day event an Open Badge earned at Open Badge Academy (OBA) will be added to your Open Badge Academy account by Cambridge English. Each badge will link back to details of the Cambridge English Professional Development event you attended.

After the event you will receive an email. Click the link and set up an Open Badge Academy account to manage your badges. If you would like to share your badge, you’ll need to set up a Mozilla Backpack. This Backpack will become your personal learning portfolio.

Within your Backpack you can organise badges and share them via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other online platforms.
